MLB: New York Yankees 8, Minnesota 1 - New York Yankees - USA - NYC - Sports


Russell Martin hit two home runs and three New York pitchers combined to throw a two-hitter Friday in leading the Yankees to an 8-1 win over Minnesota.



Trevor Plouffe had a homer in the first for the Twins but it was all New York after that during a 13-hit assault.

Martin tied it with a homer in the third and added a two-run blast in the sixth. Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson had RBI doubles for the Yankees and Mark Teixeira contributed a two-run double to finish the scoring in the ninth.
