Deaf woman suing New York Hospital Queens & nurses aide charged with fondling her in her bed
The 46-year-old victim was recovering from surgery for a broken arm when New York Hospital Queens worker Samuel Doku fondled her breasts and private parts on May 11, a suit filed in Bronx Supreme Court says.
Doku, who lives in the Bronx, is charged with felony sexual abuse of a physically helpless person and forcible touching. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of the top charge.
He is accused of telling the groggy victim he would give her a sponge bath and closing the curtains around her bed before abusing her, she claims.
Before leaving her room, he kissed her on the lips, the victim told The News after the alleged attack.
"When I see an ambulance with the hospital's name on it, it shakes me," she said. "I don't know when I will ever be comfortable staying overnight in a hospital."
The suit, which seeks unspecified damages, also accuses the hospital of negligence.
Doku is free on $10,000 bond.
