Italian auto giant Fiat SpA says it will debut the Fiat 500 by Gucci, a special edition of its new-to-the-U.S. subcompact car, on Sept. 8 to kick off New York Fashion Week.

Gucci creative director Frida Giannini worked with Fiat’s styling department, Centro Stile, to customize the limited-production hart-top and convertible models.

The coming model features several exclusive design elements, including a signature Gucci green-red-green stripe that runs along the side of the hard-top models and down the length of the retractable cloth top on the 500c convertible. There is chrome “Gucci” script on the door frames and hatchback, and the cars’ 15-inch aluminum wheels have hubcaps with the interlocking GG Gucci logo.

The cars come in black or white — colors the company says were “inspired by neo-classic black and white film.”
