4 Dead In New York City-Bound Bus Crash - USA - accident - Virginia


The driver of a bus headed to Chinatown that crashed and overturned in central Virginia on Tuesday, killing four people, injuring dozens and backing up traffic for 10 miles on Interstate 95 has been charged.



State police have charged Kin Yiu Cheng, 37, with reckless driving, the AP reported. He is being held behind bars on $3,000 bond.

The accident happened shortly before 4:55 a.m., near King's Dominion in Caroline County, at the 103 mile marker on I-95, Virginia State Police said in a statement.

"The bus ran off of the right side of the road and overturned -- coming to rest upside down on its roof," the statement said. "State police were called to the scene at 4:55am. At this time there is four confirmed fatalities and multiple injuries. Those injured are being transported to hospitals in Fredericksburg and Richmond."

The bus was carrying 58 people and one driver when it crashed, Fox News Channel reported.

At least nine people were taken to the VCU Medical Center, while other patients were taken to the Chippenham Hospital and the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, WTVR reported. The driver of the Sky Express Bus was not among those killed, the local broadcaster reported.
