Brooklynites Sue City Over Prospect Park West Bike Lane

They say that because the two-way bike lane is separated from the road by a lane of parked cars, there is limited visibility for pedestrians.

The suit also claims that the city did not complete the studies on the bike lanes that it promised.

According to the plaintiffs, the Department of Transportation manipulated data after the bike lane was created to show that it was a success.

The DOT disputes those claims, saying the project eased traffic and improved safety. The agency says accidents and speeding have gone down since the lane was put in.
