Knicks Grab Carmelo Anthony In Massive Trade
As part of the trade announced Tuesday, Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, and Timofey Mozgov are heading to Denver. The Knicks are also giving up a 2014 first-round pick, two second-round picks and $3 million.
Coming with Anthony are Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, Corey Brewer and former Knicks player Renaldo Balkman.
Knicks players Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph are heading to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the same deal.
"There's not many times in this league that you can get a 26-year-old superstar in his prime and get him to come into a team," said head coach Mike D'Antoni. "Obviously you have to give up something to do that. We did. But we're really excited about what we have and we're going."
Anthony will reportedly get a three-year, $65 million contract extension as part of the deal, as well.
The players were required to pass a physical for the deal to be finalized.
