NY Parent Says Holocaust E-Mail To PTA Was Mistake
The New York Times reports that the Jan. 16 e-mail was sent by Michael Santomauro, whose son is a third grader at P.S. 290 in Manhattan. It said: “You should read this book! It is rocking my world!”
Santomauro told the Times he realized his error after two parents complained. He apologized to them.
He said he intended the e-mail for members of a group that debates whether accounts of the Holocaust are exaggerated.
School Principal Sharon Hill wrote to the school’s parents. She said neither the school or the PTA support Santomauro’s views.
