NY Man Pleads Guilty To Bribery - USA - NYC - crime - bribery


A lawyer has admitted he paid a former Yonkers Republican Party chairman tens of thousands of dollars to bribe an ex-Yonkers councilwoman to switch her vote on a redevelopment project.



Anthony Mangone pleaded guilty to public corruption charges on Monday.

He admitted paying Zehy Jereis $300,000, money he got from the developer of the Longfellow School project, to bribe Sandy Annabi. Jereis and Annabi have pleaded not guilty.

All three have been charged with conspiring to sell Annabi’s vote on the controversial $630 million project in 2006.
