Big Apple Readies For Thanksgiving Day Parade


Thanksgiving isn’t just about turkey. One of the best-loved and most enduring city traditions is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.



A high-kicking Kung Fu Panda and a diary-toting Wimpy Kid will join the giant balloon lineup for the 84th annual parade.
   
Live entertainers expected at Thursday’s parade include Kanye West, Gladys Knight and Colombian rocker Juanes.
   
Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to line the parade route, with millions more watching the live broadcast on NBC. 1010 WINS is the Official radio station of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade so if you can’t be there to watch it.

(...) The marchers and balloonists will take their first steps at 9 a.m. at 77th Street and Central Park West. Their route will take them, down to Columbus Circle where the parade veers east to 7th Avenue.

At Times Square, it cuts over to 6th Avenue before winding up in Herald Square on 34th Street right in front of Macy’s.
