Key Witness Banned From Guantanamo Detainee's Civilian Trial - Guantanamo - USA - crime - terrorism


A judge has banned a key government witness from the first civilian trial of a Guantanamo Bay detainee.



Prosecutors say the witness sold explosives to Ahmed Ghailani, who is charged in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya that killed 224 people, including a dozen Americans.

Jury selection was supposed to have resumed today.

Prosecutors say Ghailani helped purchase the truck used to bomb the embassy in Tanzania and bought bomb-making equipment for both terrorist attacks.
