Fed-up flight attendant Steven Slater played let's make a deal Tuesday during a brief appearance in Queens Supreme Court.

During the four minute hearing on charges stemming from his infamous meltdown aboard a JetBlue flight, Slater let his lawyer do the talking - and did not enter a plea.

"We're looking for as favorable a disposition for Mr. Slater as we can," defense attorney Daniel Horowitz said.

Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Mantell confirmed there have been plea talks with Slater.

But Mantell also insisted that Slater could have killed somebody when he capped his spectacular snit by deploying the emergency chute while the plane was on the ground at Kennedy Airport.

"We continue to focus on the seriousness of the acts of the defendant," Mantell said.

Slater is charged with trespassing, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief and faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. He is due back in court on Oct. 19.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Slater will be evaluated to see if he qualifies for an alternative sentencing program that would spare him a jail term. Such a program has been used with returning war vets whose mental health issues contributed to their crime.
