Department of Health: So Far, 80 Percent Of New York City Restaurant Inspections Make The Grade
Of those restaurants that went through the entire process, only 12 percent got "C" grades and 8 percent were closed.
Under the new system, any restaurant that initially falls short of an "A" gets another visit within two to three weeks.
Operators can take the time to make improvements and boost their grade up on the second visit.
