First-Ever Dorms Open At Baruch College
The new digs are located at 101 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side.
About 120 students, including 92 freshmen, hauled boxes upon boxes into their new home, which is just 15 minutes away from campus.
School officials say they hope the dorms bring the full college experience.
"One of the other wonderful things about the facility are the common areas, we have a terrace where we can have barbecues. We have a common room, we have a game room, we have a place where they can watch TV. And so there are a lot of places where they can build community and new friendships," said Student Affairs Vice President Ben Corpus.
"It's pretty cool so far, right now, we're just organizing stuff," said freshman Bond Davis.
