Principal scolded for allowing alcohol at same prom where teacher was caught kissing a student
The teachers' boozing came to light after an apparently blitzed staffer was spotted kissing a student at the event held on a yacht called the "Fantasy."
Principal Michael Soet admitted chaperones were offered beer and wine as "part of the package" - and a cash bar for other alcohol - according to the report from Special Commissioner Richard Condon.
Soet told investigators he bought two drinks for himself, but claimed he was unaware chaperones were prohibited from drinking.
But Assistant Principal John Harriman told investigators he warned Soet and refused to be a chaperone if drinks were served.
(...) Teacher Lindsay Dunaj, who organized the prom, resigned in December, an official said, after she was reported to investigators for smooching a student on the dance floor.
The private moment became very public when it was projected on a TV screen on another floor of the yacht.
