Former Paterson Aide Arraigned On Misdemeanor Assault Charges
David Johnson turned himself in to authorities Thursday morning. He did not enter a plea to the assault charges, or to charges of criminal mischief in the second degree, menacing and a count of third-degree harassment.
He also received a temporary restraining order of protection to keep him away from his former girlfriend, Sherr-una Booker.
Booker says Johnson abused her last October, when he allegedly choked her, threw her against a dresser and ripped her Halloween costume because he was upset over the way she was dressed.
Court documents show Johnson even threatened to kill her after she tried to call authorities.
He was released on his own recognizance and no bail was set. He made no comments to reporters.
