It would appear as if Google employees are testing a new and improved version of Gmail internally, according to a screenshot that was originally intended to highlight a bug within Google’s Chromium Operating System.

The new version apparently includes a “Call Phone” feature in Gmail chat, the ability to change accounts on-the-fly, and a new “compose” button. In addition, the re-design features unread and starred message toggles that consume less space.

Can you spot anything new and notable?

It’s not known when this version of Gmail will go live for users, of even if it will go live, though this is undoubtedly an interesting news item.
