Officials are accusing a New Jersey volunteer ambulance company of hosting parties with nude dancers and prostitutes.

However, the attorney for Avenel-Colonia First Aid Squad (ACFAS) says Woodbridge officials are engaged in a politically-motivated "public smear campaign."

A notice on the squad's Web site states, "No squad members have been charged with illegal conduct and ACFAS denies any wrongdoing."

The statement goes on to say, "It is very disappointing that the Township’s public officials will stop at nothing, including unnecessarily trying to ruin the members’ reputation and abusing the criminal process, to turn the tide of public opinion against the squad when all the squad wants to do is serve the community."

Township officials announced on Wednesday that police charged a man, who is not a squad member, with promoting prostitution in the squad's building.  It happened on July 14th.
