Arrest Made In Fatal Queens Fire - USA - NYC - New York - crime - Queens


A 23-year-old man has been charged with arson and assault in connection with a deadly fire in Springfield Gardens. Jimmy Humphrey is awaiting arraignment.



Linda Anderson, 25, and her two-year-old son were killed in Tuesday's fire on Anderson Road.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says Anderson was pregnant with Humphrey's child.

Brown says Humphrey admitted he grabbed Anderson by the throat and shoved her, causing her to fall.

Officials say Humphrey told them a bottle of nail polish and a candle also fell, setting Anderson on fire.

Humphrey then allegedly ran off.
