Two Boys Die In Queens House Fire
Sources say flames broke out in a middle bedroom of a two-family house at 141-45 82nd Street in Springfield Gardens just after 9 a.m.
The New York City Fire Department says firetrucks were on the scene within three minutes of getting the call.
Fire officials say the boys -- ages eight and one -- were found in a back room after crews were able to knock down the blaze.
They were brought to Jamaica Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Sources told NY1 that the children were being watched by their 57-year-old grandmother at the time, while their mother was out running errands.
The grandmother and two other children in the house escaped and were brought to Jamaica Hospital in serious condition.
