Shopkeeper saves falling child in amazing caught-on-camera heroism [VIDEO] - Europe - Turkey - Istanbul - video

Crumbs this one is a close call. Too close. A hero has saved a four-year-old boy who fell from the top of an escalator, in Turkey, almost certainly saving his life.

CCTV footage captured the moment that the explorative scamp scaled the outside of the moving stairs in a shopping centre in Istanbul.

He was spotted by shopkeeper Ali Apari who monitored the situation until the bold youngster reached his summit, where he duly lost grip and plummeted.

Fear not, Apari was on the case. Cool as a cricketer's catch he plucked the tumbling toddler from the air, before returning him to his father.

Someone buy that man an Efes, pronto...
