Indonesian teen chops off penis, dumps it in a well after losing girlfriend to another man

The 19-year-old youngster from a Central Java village was lucky to survive the self-dismemberment, authorities said.

"He arrived at the hospital last Thursday in critical condition from blood loss," Cilacap General Hospital Director Sugeng Budi Susanto said.

"Cutting off a penis can be fatal."

Unfortunately, the young man will have to miss his member during the course of his life, as villagers did not manage to locate it, so doctors could not even attempt to reattach it.

The teen has spent several days in intensive care, but is now recovering.

According to Mr Sugeng, "he's still too shocked and embarrassed to talk to or see anyone."
