The U.S. Secret Service is investigating two Twitter users who posted messages calling for the assassination of President Barack Obama on Sunday. The men were apparently angered by the passage of the health care reform bill.

"ASSASSINATION! America, we survived the Assassinations and Lincoln & Kennedy. We'll surely get over a bullet to Barrack Obama's head," tweeted one with the username "Solly Forell", who identifies himself as a conservative blogger and "'authentic' African American."

Forell is affiliated with conservative blogs of "Anybody But Barack Obama2012," "the Audacity of Hype," "Barack Obama Was an American Electorate Mistake." He is also the author of an upcoming "golf self-help book" and a work of fiction to be titled "The Organization."

Soon after the first message, Forell posted another Twitter message actively urging someone with a "clear shot" to kill the U.S. president.

"The next American with a Clear Shot should drop Obama like a bad habit. 4get Blacks or his claims to b[e] Black. Turn on Barack Obama," Forell wrote on the microblogging website.

Another Twitter user "THHEE_JAY", who was identified as Jay Martin, wrote "You Should be Assassinated!! @Barack Obama."

Martin, an African American, said in another tweet "If I lived in DC. I'd shoot him myself. Dead f***ing serious."

After posting the inflammatory messages on Twitter, the men soon received warning messages, saying they would likely be the subjects of federal investigations. Then they both tried to withdraw their comments.

"Let us all renounce the harsh rhetoric about POTUS," Forell tweeted. "Several including myself have used inappropriate language. Let's remain civil!"

"For the record," Martin wrote, "I NEVER said I would do harm to the president. I simply expressed my anger."

The Secret Service is now investigating the threats made by the two men.
