Men want sex until the grave

Men want sex until they have one foot in the grave, according to a recent study by British researchers.

The study, published Wednesday in the British Medical Journal, say 67% of men ages 65 to 74 have been sexually active in the past year, compared with just 40% of women in the same age group.

According to the study, the disparity between genders grows with age. The difference is greatestamong the 75- to 85-year-old group: 38.9 percent of men compared with16.8 percent of women in that age group were sexually active, according to the study.

The study found that amongsexually active men and women, good health was also significantly associatedwith frequent sex (once or more weekly).

At age 30, sexually active life expectancywas 34.7 more years for men and 30.7 more years for women compared with14.9 to 15.3 more years for men and 10.6 more years for women at age 55.

At age 55, men in very good or excellenthealth on average gained five to seven years of sexually active life comparedwith their peers in poor or fair health. Women in very goodor excellent health gained three to six years compared with women inpoor or fair health.

Sexually active life expectancy was longerfor men, but men lost more years of sexually active life asa result of poor health than women.
