With the world’s most historic motor racing track running through its reception, the 120-bedroom Brooklands hotel in Weybridge, Surrey, has finally opened its doors this week.

The four-star deluxe property is owned by investor clients of property investment company Delancey and is a sister property to Bovey Castle, Dartmoor, and the Grand hotel, Jersey.

It was originally designed as a Columbus hotel to be operated by Ken McCulloch, with backing from racing driver David Coulthard.  However, a disagreement between the partners led to a delay in the opening of the hotel.

Brooklands stands on the site of the world’s first purpose-built race track and the scene, during the 1920s and 1930s, of the earliest motor racing in the country. The interior design by Trevellion includes references to the Art Deco era prevalent during the circuit’s heyday.
