Is East London's property market back on track?
Eastenders, as every soap fan knows, lead lives of triumph and tragedy. Nowhere is this more apparent than in their property market. The East End, London’s epicentre of creativity, fashion and, as of 2012, synchronised swimming, has suffered more than any other part of the capital in the past two years.
Yet confidence is rebuilding in anticipation of the launch of the East London Line extension later this year, and, of course, the Olympics. Residential development is now restarting in business districts such as Old Street and Bishopsgate, the location of The Heron, a 36-storey residential tower to be launched next week — a vote of confidence in an area recently associated only with commerce.
