Naomi Campbell Smacks Driver With Mobile Phone, Then Flees
The official says the 39-year-old model became angry with the driver and started to hit him from the back seat with a cell phone.
The driver stopped the car, then spoke to a traffic agent, who alerted police, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. He said Campbell jumped out of the car and ran away.
The driver declined to press charges and said he plans to settle the incident in civil court instead.
In a statement the supermodel's spokesperson said: "There shouldn't be a rush to judgment. Naomi will cooperate voluntarily," and added, "there is more to the story than meets the eye."
