Lawmakers Agree On Aqueduct Lottery Machines Operator
Governor David Paterson said Aqueduct Entertainment Group beat out four other bidders.
He says the company has complied with every request, and has the financial viability to pay the required licensing fee.
Paterson adds AEG had support from the community.
The state Legislature first authorized the machines after the September 11th terrorist attacks, and while they were installed at several other racetracks, Aqueduct has sat idle, until now.
Officials believe the machines will generate more than $1 million a day.
