Baby The Cat Saves Illinois Family From House Fire, Now Missing
But now it's Baby himself who needs rescuing, after he turned up missing once the couple managed to get out of the house.
A fire started from unknown causes in a bedroom as the couple slept on a couch in the living room, and Baby the cat jumped on the couple and prompted them to awaken with its erratic behavior, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The owner was unable to put out the fire with an extinguisher, so they took the cat, their dog, and themselves out into the street until the fire department managed to get the fire out.
In the hubbub, however, Baby managed to slip away unnoticed, and hasn't been seen since the fire, say owners Josh Ornberg and Letitia Kovalovsky.
If anyone in the area sees a gray, white and brown tabby that answers to the name "Baby", please notify the Wonder Lake, IL, fire department at (815) 728-0088.
