NYC New Year's Eve Ideas - USA - New York - NYC - event - New Year

On Thursday, that famous crystal ball in Times Square will welcome in 2010. It's one of the biggest New Year's Eve parties in the world. But New York offers plenty of other tasty and fun ways to toast to the New Year.

Go for champagne chic at the Hudson terrace on 46th street where you can party on its grand tented rooftop or lie back in the lounge. There's a six-hour open bar. It will cost you $245.

To be a part of New York history, celebrate by saying goodbye to the legendary Tavern on the Green on its final blow-out bash. Almost all tickets are sold out, but for $1,000 you can dine at the owner's table.

Sing in the New Year with Mariah Carey, who is performing at Madison Square Garden. Some tickets are as low as $70 on certain sites; or just head to her after-party for $135.

If you want to get a running start to 2010, New York Road Runners 4-mile midnight run in Central Park will help kick start that New Year's resolution to get in shape. The entry fee ranges from $45-$55.
