Manchester: doing better in the UK rental market than average - Manchester - United Kingdom - Property Market - Rental Market

The rental property market has started to pick-up with Manchester one of the front runners

It's been a long wait, but finally the UK property market is showing signs of recovery from stagnation. Gumtree.com has reported that Manchester rental prices have risen for the first time since 2007 marking a turning point in the city’s property market. With an increase of 0.6% in rental prices, Manchester is recovering ahead of other UK cities. If only by a little bit.

The current average monthly rent for a Manchester home is £535, making it better value than the national average of £604. The latter is completely skewed by London and the south and south east. London has an average monthly rent of £1,127 for example. Aside from Edinburgh, Manchester has higher rates than similar cities such as Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds and so on.
