Injured passengers in Thai plane crash transferred to Bangkok - Asia - Thailand - air crash - expat


Six passengers injured in a plane crash at Samui Airport of southern Thailand have been transferred to Bangkok Hospital, with one of them to have surgery for the broken leg later Thursday, Thai News Agency reported.



Of the six foreigners, four suffered broken legs and two others had soft issue wounds, according to Dr. Aat Nitiphon, a surgeon from the hospital.

One of the six patients, a British national with colon cancer and in the ICU, is expected to be moved out from intensive care later Thursday. Another patient will have an operation Thursday to fix his broken leg.

Five passengers who had been submitted to Bangkok-Samui Hospital after the accident on Tuesday afternoon were transferred to Bangkok Hospital in the capital on Wednesday night, so as to facilitate the visit and assist of their families and their embassies, Chakkraphun Pongsathien, director of Bangkok-Samui Hospital was quoted as saying.

Another foreigner, a Dutch national who earlier received treatment at Bandon International Hospital in Surat Thani Province, was also transferred to Bangkok Hospital.
