Wrapping up a rather eventful day, President Obama presided this afternoon over the ceremonial swearing-ins for the final members of his cabinet, Kathleen Sebelius at health and human services and Gary Locke at commerce.

He noted that he put Sebelius straight to work this week helping run the government response to the swine flu outbreak, and he said she will play a key role in the healthcare overhaul he wants.

Obama noted that Locke is the grandson of a Chinese immigrant and son of a World War II veteran.

Calling them both innovators, he said, "I'm thrilled to have them by my side."

The president noted that the two former Democratic governors -- Sebelius of Kansas and Locke of Washington state -- had officially been sworn into office.

But, he joked: "I had to do it twice, so now we make everybody do it twice."
