State school headteacher enjoyed £130,000 in 'City-style' bonuses

Sir Alan Davies, head of Copland Specialist Science Community College in North London, has been handed payments of £80,000 and £50,000 since 2007 on top of a salary of around £100,000 per year.

A teacher who lifted the lid on the bonuses claimed to have evidence that senior staff at the school have been paid bonuses amounting to almost £1million over seven years.

The revelation follows a pay deal for heads established last week, which ushered in the era of the £200,000-a-year head.
