Parents protest Queens principal - USA - New York - NYC - education - Queens


QUEENS (WABC) -- In Queens this morning, teachers and parents are holding a rally to call for the ouster of their school's principal. They say Dr. John Murphy is extremely disrespectful and insulting, and they have had enough.



Hundreds show up to begin the protest after 7 a.m. Security was on hand to make sure it remained a peaceful protest.

The principal has been described has Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

"He's segregating the kids. He's making it seem the Indian kids are the smartest in the school, and the black ones dumb," said Anastasia Daniel.

Parents say racism is just one of the reasons Murphy should be fired as IS8 principal. Teachers say he is verbally and emotionally abusive.
