BBC journalists vote to strike against cuts
It
is believed that television, radio and online news may be affected on 3
April and 9 April, after nearly 800 members of the National Union of
Journalists (NUJ) yesterday voted for industrial action in a national
ballot against compulsory redundancies. The BBC last night confirmed to The Scotsman that it was to shed at least 14 jobs in Glasgow.
A spokeswoman said: "The BBC is continuing to work very hard to minimise compulsory redundancies in BBC Scotland – a fact acknowledged by the NUJ – and has been able to reduce the potential number to 14.
