BofA subpoenaed over Merrill bonuses - Merrill - bonus - Bank of America

The office of N.Y. Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has subpoenaed Bank of America Corp. in an effort to identify the Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. executives who received nearly $4 billion in bonuses late last year.

According to The Associated Press, Cuomo’s office issued the the subpoena after BofA CEO Kenneth Lewis failed to provide those details during a deposition Thursday.

Lewis told the news agency he “answered the questions that were asked to the best of my knowledge.”

Bank of America spokesman Robert Stickler says BofA offered to provide the employees’ names if Cuomo would guarantee their confidentiality, but he has declined to do so.
