A Staten Island teenager lost control of his car and plowed into a bus shelter Thursday, killing a disabled man who was waiting for a ride to the hospital, relatives and police said.

Nathan Pakow, 47, was waiting on Father Capodanno Blvd. near Seaview Ave. and never had a chance to dodge the spinning 2008 white Hyundai sports car that bore down on him.

"I heard a brake," said Ahmed Moghaless, a clerk at a nearby deli who saw the horrific aftermath of the 10:40 a.m. crash.

"When I came out, the guy was on the [ground]," he said. "They were trying to bring him back to life but he was gone."

The Hyundai's driver, Alex Catrama, 19, told investigators that he was making a left turn onto Father Capodanno Blvd. when he saw something in the intersection, police sources said.

When he tried to swerve, the car spun, hopped the curb, and crashed into the shelter.
