Local NAACP Reacts to New York Post Cartoon - New York Post - cartoon


NAACP leaders have called for the firing of the New York Post artist and the editor who approved a controversial cartoon.



The cartoon shows two police officers shooting a chimp and saying "they'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."

Protesters are also calling for a boycott of the New York Post and other companies owned by news corporation such as myspace.

In Dothan, local NAACP members took their concerns to the local FOX affiliate and held a press conference.

They believe an apology issued by the New York Post falls short of addressing the problem of racism in this country.
