British Airways Plane Crash Lands at London Airport; 2 Hurt - plane - crash - London

A British Airways Plc plane en route from Amsterdam crash-landed last night at London’s City Airport after its front-landing gear failed, forcing an emergency evacuation of the passengers.

Two people were injured, according to Sue Redmond, a BA spokeswoman in the U.K.

The nosewheel on the four-engine RJ100 aircraft failed, Redmond said. The 67 passengers and five crew members escaped via the plane’s emergency slides, Redmond said.

The aircraft, made by BAE Systems Plc, touched down at about 7:50 p.m. local time. Those who were injured may have hurt themselves while exiting the plane, Redmond said.
